Azeroth Survivors Paladin build

Compare the paladin starting spell, three talent trees and conditional choices before editing a route.

Editorial starting idea · Not tested in a completed run

Azeroth Survivors Paladin build reference for v0.131.0: The documented default opening includes Consecration, a ground effect placed where you stand. Protection, Holy and Retribution can add different initial skills and triggers; those grants do not remove Consecration. A ground-based plan asks where enemies will stand after you move. Set your actual point budget before reviewing the route; a later starting-skill change may not exist at an early checkpoint.

The planning idea

A ground-based plan asks where enemies will stand after you move. Do not treat a defensive label as permission to remain inside every warning. Keep your route’s damage area and your safe movement path connected.

Early decisions

Read the starting-skill effects before loading a late Protection plan. Ardent Defender adds Hammer of Justice at the start while retaining Consecration, and links Consecration to a shield. A low-point draft may not yet have that additional skill or relationship.

Choices & alternatives

A Holy idea uses Holy Shock and Holy Wrath interactions; a Retribution idea uses Judgement or Exorcism interactions. Pick a connected package rather than taking each attractive effect without its enabling spell.

Equipment conditions

Separate maximum-health and shield-related descriptions from unconditional damage. Their value depends on the recorded trigger and whether the shield is active.

When the plan falls short

Stationary ground damage can lose contact when you kite far away. Recovery does not prove immunity, and a source tooltip is not measured effective health.

Where will your next ground effect matter?

Azeroth Survivors Paladin build starts from Consecration, but an opening ground effect does not make standing still a requirement. Plan where enemies will cross the useful area while you move to safety. If a route improves an effect that is no longer reaching the enemies, another damage label alone may not solve the problem. Write down whether your difficulty is placing the area, keeping targets inside it, or surviving long enough for its stated interaction.

Protection makes that distinction concrete. Hallowed Ground links Hammer of Justice hits to a free Consecration. Ardent Defender adds Hammer of Justice at the start while retaining Consecration, and ties Consecration to a shield. Read the recorded stage in order: a late target can contain the whole relationship while an early draft contains only part of it. A shield-related damage condition is not the same as unconditional damage.

Choose an enabling spell before a chain of effects

Holy has a different sequence. Divine Favor adds Holy Shock to the starting set while retaining Consecration; Daybreak describes a critical-hit connection from Holy Shock to Holy Wrath. A useful comparison asks whether the required spell and trigger exist in the selected stage. Do not count a free-cast condition merely because its talent name appears somewhere in the final target. Light’s Grace adds another Holy Wrath condition, which also has its own timing.

Retribution adds Judgement and Exorcism through Seal of Command and Divine Storm; those grants also retain Consecration. The Art of War is a chance-based trigger, so its stated chance is not a promise of one extra cast every time. Keep the chosen opening, enabling attack and nearby-target effect together. Mixing attractive descriptions from three trees can leave the route paying for conditions it has not actually supplied.

Test movement and shield conditions separately

For a ground-focused draft, record a moment when the enemy leaves the area. For a shield-focused draft, note whether the relevant shield is present when the condition is supposed to help. For a Holy Shock or Exorcism idea, record which spell the run actually begins with. These checks explain a failed plan more clearly than a final total alone.

Keep the same equipment and budget for an A/B comparison, and mark a missing item as a target rather than treating it as equipped. The source definitions support the named connections, but they do not establish your survival time or boss result. A Paladin plan is ready to try when its opening and conditions are understandable; that is different from declaring it the safest or strongest option.
